Who We Are. Why We Exist. What We’re Fighting For.
Who We Are. The New Hampshire Coalition of Families of the Missing and Murdered is a statewide alliance of families, survivors, and advocates whose loved ones remain missing or unsolved victims of homicide. United by shared grief, frustration, and resilience, we have come together to demand transparency, accountability, and meaningful progress in more than 127 unsolved cases across New Hampshire.
This Coalition was formed by families who, despite years and in some cases decades of waiting, continue to face silence, stalled investigations, and inconsistent communication from public officials. Alone, our voices were often dismissed. Together, we cannot be ignored.

Why We Came Together. Each founding member joined the Coalition for deeply personal reasons:

Family of Trish Haynes (murdered 2018):
“Years have passed without answers, without justice, and without meaningful communication. We joined this Coalition because Trish deserves better, and so does every family left behind.”

Jane Boroski, survivor of the Connecticut River Valley serial killer:
“I survived an attack that others did not, and decades later we still don’t have answers. I joined to make sure these victims are never forgotten and their cases are never abandoned.”

Julie Murray, sister of Maura Murray (missing since 2004):
“After two decades of roadblocks and silence, it became clear that families needed to stand together. Transparency and communication should not be something we have to beg for.”

John Roberts, brother of Denise Robert (murdered 2015):
“It feels like we’ve been waiting forever. I joined because families deserve answers, and because waiting in the dark should never be the system.”

Ken Dionne, brother of Roberta “Bobbie” Miller (murdered 2010):
“It feels like we’ve been waiting forever. I joined because families deserve answers, and because waiting in the dark should never be the system.”

Why It Matters. Families of the missing and murdered live in a state of ongoing trauma and ambiguity. The lack of information, inconsistent updates, and absence of accountability compound that trauma year after year. These are not cold cases to us. They are our children, siblings, parents, and friends.
Justice delayed is justice denied.

Our Mission. To advocate for transparency, accountability, and sustained investigative effort in unsolved missing persons and homicide cases in New Hampshire, while centering families as partners, not obstacles, in the pursuit of truth and justice.

Our Vision. A system where families receive routine communication, modern investigative tools are fully utilized, public accountability is the norm, and no case is sidelined because time has passed.

Our Core Objectives. The Coalition is focused on a set of clear, actionable reforms:
  • Routine Communication & Transparency
Establish standardized, scheduled updates to families and increase visibility into how cases are reviewed and prioritized.

  • Accountability & Measurable Progress
Require public reporting on cold case activity, caseloads, and investigative actions to ensure progress can be tracked over time.

  • Modern Investigative Practices
Expand and clearly communicate the use of forensic genealogy, familial DNA, and advanced database tools.

  • Responsive Tip Management
Ensure timely acknowledgment and follow-up of tips through transparent tracking protocols.

  • Resources & Trauma-Informed Engagement
Secure dedicated staffing and funding for cold cases and require trauma-informed training for officials who work with families.

A Model for Other States. While rooted in New Hampshire, this Coalition was built with broader impact in mind. Our structure, goals, and advocacy framework are designed to be replicable by families and advocates nationwide who face similar barriers in unsolved cases.
By uniting families across cases, maintaining a clear reform agenda, and engaging publicly and collaboratively with state institutions, the New Hampshire Coalition offers a model for how families can move from isolated grief to collective action. We believe transparency, accountability, and partnership should be the standard everywhere, not the exception.

We welcome collaboration with families, advocates, and policymakers in other states seeking to build similar coalitions and strengthen national efforts to address unresolved missing and murdered cases.
Standing TogetherWe are not asking for special treatment. We are asking for basic accountability, consistent communication, and a system that recognizes families as stakeholders, not obstacles.

Together, we are changing the conversation.
