Murray Family Launches Maura's #BlueRibbon Campaign to Erect Historical Marker
On July 21st, Maura Murray's family and friends launched Maura's #BlueRibbon Campaign to preserve and memorialize the location where Maura disappeared in 2004 after her car crashed on Rt. 112 in Haverhill, NH. The goals of the campaign include erecting a Historical Marker near where Maura was last seen, increasing awareness of Maura’s case, and expanding cooperation within the community to honor Maura as the Murray family continues their fight to find Maura.
"For sixteen years, a blue ribbon has been placed around a tree near the location Maura was last seen before she vanished without a trace. We are launching Maura’s #BlueRibbon Campaign to memorialize that sacred place with a historical marker," said Julie Murray, Maura's sister. "Thousands of people visit Maura’s blue ribbon every year and it’s past time we formally recognize and protect that sacred location given its significance to our family, the state of New Hampshire, and the hundreds of thousands of supporters across the globe.”
Individuals can learn more about the campaign at www.mauramurraymissing.org/blueribbon where they can sign an on-line petition and complete a survey to help determine the write-up language for Maura's historical marker application.
